My Research Project Today, I’d like to talk about a real research project that I’m currently working on. The title is “From Gaming to Learning: Exploring Vietnamese First-Year English-Major Students’ Experiences of Incidental Vocabulary Learning through Sandbox Video Games.” First, the objectives of the project. The main objective is to explore how first-year English-major students in Vietnam learn new English vocabulary naturally while playing sandbox video games. We want to understand their experiences and find out how gaming can support English vocabulary learning. Second, the project team and resources needed. I’m working on this project with my teammate, Thinh, and our supervisor, Ms. Vi Ngoc. We need to work together, share ideas, and collect information from students. We also need computers, research papers, and sandbox video games. Third, the budget. Our total budget is around one million Vietnamese dong. Therefore, we need to allocate resources carefully and stay within budget. We should avoid unnecessary expenses and make good use of the resources available to us. Fourth, the deadlines and milestones. We have six months to complete this project. During this time, we need to review the literature, design our research, collect data, analyze the results, and write the final report. We must manage our time carefully to meet the deadlines and avoid falling behind schedule. Finally, possible problems and solutions. One possible problem is that collecting data may take longer than expected. To solve this problem, we need to delegate tasks effectively, get updates on our progress, and get on with our tasks. If we fall behind schedule, we must catch up and get the project back on track. In conclusion, this is an important project for me because it allows me to develop my research skills and explore the connection between gaming and English learning. I hope our team can finish the project successfully and finish on time.
