Name(s): Ryker Brummer, Isaac Coleman Period:3 New Tech Improvement Data Project 1. Write your final draft of your statistical question. (Reminder that you will need to ask the students what grade you they are in) On a scale from 1-10 how do you feel about archery? 2. Explain how you and your team plan to collect data. Will you be keeping track of your responses on paper, a google doc, or google sheets? How are you and your team making sure that the people you survey are random? If you are using a google document, you need to share it with Miss Latham. If you do it on paper, you will staple it to this packet. Okay we're going to do 5 and 10 in the sections if it's higher then 5 we will put it in the 10 if it's lower then we’ll put in 5. 3. Organize your categorical data in the two way table below. Be sure to label the missing parts. Do you like archery? no Yes Total Freshman 3 9 12 Sophomores 5 3 8 Total 8 12 First Quartile Q1 =4 Second Quartile Q2 =8 Third Quartile Q3 =9 Interquartile Range IQR =5 Median = Q2 =8 Minimum Min =2 Maximum Max =10 Range R =8 4. What is one thing you notice from your data in the two-way table 5. Using your two way table create a relative frequency table. Rate archery 1-10 1-5 6-10 Total Freshman 5,3,4 6,8,7,9,10,8,9,6,10 12 Sophomores 3,4,2 10,8,9,9,8 8 6. What is one thing you notice about your data in the relative frequency table? The frequency is relative data. Because the relationship between the freshmen and sophomores that like and don’t like archery are more positive results on the freshman side for freshmen liking archery but more negative results for sophomores that like archery. 7. What was the quantitative data that you collected? We collected it as if people liked archery and how much they did. 8. Using your quantitative data, list your data in order from least to greatest. 2,3,3,4,4,5,6,6,7,8,8,8,8,9,9,9,9,10,10,10 9. Using your list from above, determine your measures of center Mean Median 2,3,3,4,4,5,6,6,7,8,8,8,8,9,9,9,9,10,10 2+3+3+4+4+5+6+6+7+8+8+8+8+9+9+9+9+10+10= 128 128/19 = 6.7 Mean = 6.7 2,3,3,4,4,5,6,6,7,8,8,8,8,9,9,9,9,10,10 Median = 8 10. What is one thing you notice about your measures of center? More people like archery than the ones who don’t. 11. Organize your quantitative data in either a dot plot or a histogram in the space below. 12. What is one thing you notice about your data from your dot plot or histogram? There are more sophomore that dislike archery than freshman disliking archery 13. Describe the shape/distribution (skewed, symmetric, uniform, bell shape, bimodal) of your data and what it tells you about your data. Skewed distribution because it is not uniform and not bell or symmetric so it is uniform and this shows that the data is relevant 14. Using your quantitative data, create a box plot in the space below. 15. What is one thing you notice about your data from your box plot? The data is relevant and the mean is off to the righ
