This research proposal centres Malaysian fathers’ lived experiences of raising autistic children, focusing on emotional meanings, coping strategies and preferred support systems in the Klang Valley. It addresses gaps in maternal-centric autism research by applying stress and coping theory alongside a person-centred counselling lens to better understand fathers’ needs within uneven urban service contexts.
