Qatar faces a food-security paradox, relying on over 90% food imports while food waste predominantly ends up in landfills. FIO addresses this issue through a circular platform that tracks food scraps by venue and district, connecting waste with collection partners. The initiative aims to scale this model across Qatar, beginning with Doha's food businesses and piloting in districts from West Bay to Al Wakrah, ultimately routing compost to Al Shahaniya farms for sustainable use.
