Evaluating Community Policing: Impacts and Challenges

A comprehensive review of Community-Oriented Policing (COP) studies, covering its significance, historical context, and effectiveness. The article analyses 25 reports and 65 independent tests, primarily focused on U.S. neighbourhoods. It explores COP’s impact on citizen satisfaction, trust, and its limited influence on crime reduction, while identifying research gaps. Recommendations highlight the need for advanced methodologies to enhance results.
