Yes, charts created in PowerPoint using Excel data have their underlying data extracted. The extracted Excel file contains the data table that powers each chart. This allows you to update values, modify the chart, or use the data for other purposes. Charts created without Excel integration may not have extractable data.

Embedded Excel objects (inserted via Insert > Object) are extracted as complete Excel files with all sheets, formatting, and formulas intact. These are essentially full Excel workbooks stored within the PowerPoint, and we extract them in their original form.

For embedded Excel objects, formulas are preserved as they were in the original spreadsheet. For chart data, the extracted values are static as charts typically store calculated results rather than formulas. The data structure and organization are maintained for easy editing.

All Excel elements are extracted and organized logically. Multiple embedded spreadsheets become separate worksheets or files, clearly labeled by their source slide. Chart data from different slides is organized so you can identify which data corresponds to which chart.

Linked Excel data where the spreadsheet remains external to the PowerPoint file cannot be extracted since the data isn't stored in the presentation. Check if your data is embedded or linked by examining the PowerPoint file size, as embedded Excel significantly increases size.

Extracted data is saved in XLSX format, compatible with Microsoft Excel 2007 and later, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and other modern spreadsheet applications. This format preserves formatting, formulas, and multiple sheets.

To extract Excel data from protected files, provide the password during upload. The view password should be sufficient for extraction. For fully encrypted files, use our unlock tool first. We cannot bypass password protection for security reasons.

Most extractions complete in 10-30 seconds depending on the amount of embedded data. Presentations with large embedded spreadsheets or many charts take longer. The process is fully automated and your Excel file(s) will be ready for immediate download.
